Course and Conference Bursary

Through the On-Farm Climate Action Fund offerings, agrologists residing in Nova Scotia are eligible to receive support for the purpose of attending a conference or course.

To be eligible to receive this funding, the conference or course must be in alignment with one or more of the three Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs) that are part of the OFCAF program, namely Improved Nitrogen Management, Cover Cropping or Rotational Grazing. Be sure to include in your application why this event is suitable for this bursary and how it will assist with your continuing education related to the OFCAF BMPs.

You can fill out the bursary application here. There is a limited amount of funding, and applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible applicants must be professional agrologists working in Nova Scotia.

Successful applicants will be required to carry out one knowledge transfer activity (KTT), sharing what they have learned with producers in conjunction with Perennia. This includes one of the following;

  • Presentation on-line or in-person (minimum 15 minutes plus questions)
  • Factsheet (two-page minimum)
  • Blogpost (one-page) to be posted on the OFCAF blog
  • Or another proposed option that will need to be approved by the OFCAF Perennia team.

Funds will not be distributed until you have completed the KTT activity. The KTT activity can be set up with the OFCAF Perennia team and distributed through Perennia marketing if needed.

You will be notified in 8 business days if your application has been approved, and funding will be set aside to support your professional development. Claims must be submitted within one-month of the course or conference completion.
