Course and Conference Bursary

Through the On-Farm Climate Action Fund offerings, agrologists residing in Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia are eligible to receive support for the purpose of attending a conference or course. The conference bursary supports travel (flight or buses), accommodation during the duration of the conference, and registration. The conference bursary does not include milage or costs associated with food.

To be eligible to receive this funding, the conference or course must be in alignment with one or more of the three Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs) that are part of the OFCAF program, namely Improved Nitrogen Management, Cover Cropping or Rotational Grazing.

There are two conferences that are being promoted this year:

  1. The Maritime Beef Conference is a great way to connect and learn with industry professionals within Atlantic Canada. The Maritime Beef Councils hosts the annual conference every fall with anticipation of supporting grazers, ranchers, and farmers in producing healthy grass, cattle, and profits. The OFCAF program is offering funding to financially support a maximum of $750.00 for NS agrologists and $1500.00 for NL agrologists. The conference funding will be awarded to a total of five people.

Dates: November 8 – 9, 2024
Location: Moncton, New Brunswick
Deadline to Apply: October 15, 2024

  1. The Western Canada Conference on Soil Health and Grazing is a great opportunity to attend a well-rounded conference that focuses on rotational grazing. The OFCAF program is offering funding to financially support a maximum of $2000.00 for NS agrologists and $2500.00 for NL agrologists. The conference funding will be awarded to a total of five people.
